Video Montages have been an add on service for the wedding receptions and the anniversary receptions that I entertain at.  You can now order a custom video/dvd without buying a dance package.  The video montage or dvd is created from your pictures and videos.  I take your pictures and videos, edit and arrange them, give them a twist with transitions, add music and text, create the title and chapters and then burn to dvd.  An average of 60 pictures makes about a 10-15 minute video and runs around $150.  Video can be interwined into the dvd as well, pricing will vary when video is used, call for details.  The video montages are not just for weddings or anniversaries anymore.  These video montages are a great way to preserve memories from birthday parties, christmas with the whole family, family reunions, class reunions, car shows and even make a season highlight from your childs sports pictures for the year.  There are so many great ideas and this is a great way to keep the memories.  If you have more than one child we can create more than one chapter on the disc and have access to them all on one dvd.

I have spent alot of time restructuring the business side of DJ Impressions and started parts of it from scratch again.  I am in the middle of putting together my website djimpressions.com, and starting my business plan from the beginning.  I feel that by keeping my goals in front of me and the business side solid, I will still be able to enjoy the mobile entertainment business for years to come.  If I ever stop enjoying the work I do, then I will have to stop and find a new passion. 

I joined the Central Kansas Chapter of the American Disc Jockey Association (ADJA) in 2004 for education.  This was the best move of my professional career.  We really focus on educating our clients on the benefits of having a professional disc jockey to guide and sometimes even produce the whole event.  More than just pressing play, we set the atmosphere and move the attention to where it should be focused at.  When we do this the client can enjoy the event instead of worrying about details, what is going to happen next, etc.  In 2007, I was elected as the Membership Director for the Central Kansas Chapter of the ADJA.  Being on the board really takes up alot of time.  I really have alot of respect for the other board members that were here from day 1.  We don’t get paid to be on the board, instead we work to build up the industry one dj at a time, one client at a time.  Our meeting range anywhere from how to file our taxes, to creating a one of a kind grand entrance for the bride and groom at their wedding.  We had a series called the 10 things I hate about dj’s.  In this series we took a photographer, a wedding planner and a hotel banquet manager and created a meeting for each of them.  We learned the 10 worst things they have seen and experienced dj’s doing.  We then talked about each item and how we can correct these problems to make the experiences at these events better.
